Switch Off 2.3 runs in the system tray and allows you to schedule computer shut downs, restarts, and other essential functions. The nice thing is that it lets you to do this remotely as well through a Web interface. This is great for those times you’ve got your virus scanner running or downloading movies right before you head out the door for vacation and don’t want to run your electric bill sky high.

It can shutdown or restart your computer, disconnect your current dial-up connection, and lock your workstation. It provides fast access to these operations through system tray icon.

Switch Off 2.3 is Windows only and can be downloaded here (64Kb). For complete remote control over you computer(s) using only your Web browser try (the free) LogMeIn.
