Amen to you Anil,

You have more chance of getting hit by a cab crossing the street to the airport terminal than getting whacked by terrorists.

I’ve worked on a fishing boat in the North Pacific which is supposed to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. I didn’t find that out until long after was out there. The point is, ignorance is bliss but not stupidity. Use your intuition.

Thanks – and I agree – I’m also curious, what do you think the reasons are that as a public we tend to focus on the symptoms?

It’s a bit scary to think about – especially when you’ve seen how terrible/crazy drivers can be in some parts of the world!

At least in most Indian cities, there is so much traffic you’re hardly moving at any great speed most of the time.

Good points about the very, very, very low risk of ever being involved with something like terrorism….not sure I needed to be reminded of how dangerous it is just to drive in some of these places though…

Hey Anil,

Nicely written article. The knee jerk reaction of authorities was to start searching anything and everything without knowing why or what they were doing, just like you pointed out.

Terrorism, if needs to be conquered, has to be dealt at the source and not the destination. Installing water filters on taps in our kitchen is useless if sewage water is fed to the mains.
