I suspect that many of you reading travel from time to time but I’m curious as to what “type” of traveler you’d categorize yourself as?

- Vacationer - I take a few trips a year when I get time off from work (32%, 7 Votes)
- Round-the-World Traveler - A journey of a year or more (23%, 5 Votes)
- Long Term Traveler - I'm not sure when I'll stop moving around (23%, 5 Votes)
- Adventure/Outdoor Traveler - Mountains, woods, you name it I'm there (14%, 3 Votes)
- Backpacker - It's the same pair of underwear for a week mate (9%, 2 Votes)
- Armchair Traveler - I don't really travel but love to read about it (0%, 0 Votes)

I see some discrepancy here.
Except backpacker, all other categories are with respect to time. i.e. ‘how long we travel’ whereas the last category is for ‘we travel as what’.
I mean backpacker can fit in anywhere with the above.

You’re right, I didn’t notice that when I was setting up the poll. I suppose one could be a long term/vacationing/etc. backpacker. Perhaps that would be better suited to ‘student’ traveler? I’m open to any suggestions you may have.
Well, as per this list, I am a vacationer but generally travel as a flashpacker or a backpacker. Which one I should vote for then ?
Hmm…I should add an alternative option somehow. I’ll leave the final decision up to you. I suppose for backpacker I was thinking more the student type but these comments have me thinking. I could have done a much better job of defining!

I’m currently on a rtw backpacking trip and I love doing adventure/outdoorsy stuff. Which box do I tick?

Well, I’m retired, so I’m certainly not a vacationer. I’m about to set off on my third RTW, but I won’t be gone as long as a year, and I have every intention of being home in around seven months. And although I travel with a convertible backpack, I usually stay in guesthouses rather than hostels. I guess I’d have to vote “none of the above”….
Works for me – these categories are hardly rigid, quite the opposite in fact
