Family owned and managed in a way you can feel the care they have about the place, the Hotel Las Mariposas is a 7 minute walk from the main plaza square and a comfortable place to stay. The rooms are clean and there is an emphasis on being eco-friendly. One of the few complaints I had is about the shower curtains, which allowed far too much water to be leaked on the floors (unless you direct the shower head directly into the wall). Otherwise the beds were exceptionally soft and comfortable although the rooms a bit warm in the spring and summer heat as there aren’t fans or air conditioning. A basic breakfast of coffee, bread, and jams are served plus homemade organic snacks (e.g. granola bars) are available throughout the day.
