My story is a bit different. I wasnt in this country then.

9/11/01 - i lived in islamabad - capital city to pakistan. (beautiful city on the outskirts of himalayas) - We were preparing a suprise birthday party for my sister....around 6 pm, the news came up and we all thought that a plane lost control or something. it was tragic. then the other one hit and then it was all over the news. All my family was here so yea we were pretty scared and worried , we were calling family in NY and DC but the lines were busy.

The sadest thing was ...when i stepped out of the house alotta people were celebrating...they kept saying "American economy has been attacked, their building are destroyed" all kinds of other shit. Nobody ever mentioned the people who lost their lives, families..It was all about how "they" took revenge on america...mentioning States like its a piece of land.... not people.

Here is my story. I was in a music history class from 9 to 10:15 in the Perfoming Arts Building at George Mason. So both planes hit and nobody thought to knock on the door and tell us what the hell was going on. I will forever remember how the world was changing and we all had no idea, we were just listening to a lecture about some kind of music from the 1800's. I remember later in the day I had an American History class and he told us all how America always has maintained through times of tragedy. Then I had a jazz class, and the teacher said that when life gets tough he plays his saxophone. I thought that was kind of dickish. It just rubbed me the wrong way, but maybe I just wanted class to be cancelled so I could sit in front of the television. It kind of sucks that we still do not know exactly what happened. I am writing this from the elementary school that I teach at, and we had a moment of silence this morning at 9:15. Yesterday I got my hair cut and the woman who worked on me told me how her husband was a police office at ground zero and how his lungs are all screwed up. It may sound silly, but I am looking forward to watching WWE wrestling tonight from Madison Square Garden. I was very close to going, but it is a school night, and I am saving up for a wedding. WWE always takes care of the troops and Americana type stuff. Hopefully it will be more than that retard Hacksaw Jim Duggan waving a flag around. To all my GMU friends, wasn't it scary when the plane was flying overhead and the damage done to the pentagon. As Bob Dylan puts it, "There is always a reason when people's lives are spared."
