I’m really quite fascinated with visiting Afghanistan, though I think even more than Iraq (where I visited last year) people fear visiting out of safety. Often though on the ground things are much different I’ve realized; and it’s interesting to hear your thoughts from there.

It’s an amazing country and much safer than the media would have you believe.

On Northern Cyprus: it’s very easy to get there from the south now and it’s a lovely place, full of history and friendly people. You can cross on foot through the Ledra street pedestrian crossing in Nicosia, only really takes 5 minutes.

What do you think about the new government move to require visas for all foreign travelers? Just read that yesterday and not sure why they would make such a move.
