The Great Turtle Race Is Over, Sundae Still In Costa Rica

The Great Turtle Race has ended and all but two of the contestants have made it back to their homes in the Galapagos Islands. Drexelina and Sundae are still hanging out in Costa Rica swimming up and down the bay. Perhaps they’re still hungry or just not satisfied with the beach to lay their eggs – scientists aren’t exactly sure.

You can follow their movements of the coast and check the status of the Leatherback and other turtle species (which are highly endangered). Who knows, maybe we’ll get an explanation from Sundae on her Myspace soon. Wonder how she updates it with those flippers 😉
