The images are pretty clear and yes they are hidden from the screeners but I&#039;m not convinced this technology makes us much safer - considering the costs. These machines are very expensive and could probably be put to better use for investigative units. 

Sophisticated attacks and plots are stopped in the planning stages well before anyone gets to the airport.

Even if an x-ray was to be used, it would be the same as going to the doctors office: any items you may have on you will be seen, than a see through silhoutte which could possibly see your bone structure.
