In reply to Edie. Fanar tower does really stand out in the architectural landscape of that part of the city. I wonder if they'll build more unique designs in that area down the line. Seems it would only help enhance the skyline.

Good tip. The Fanar tower is mostly visible on the southeast side of the city (close to the airport, Corniche/bay, Museum of Islamic Art, souqs, and smaller hotels). Certainly one of the most walkable parts of Doha.

In reply to Priyank. I don't think it will last though, the development is something several times that the rate of Dubai I believe. The World Cup is also acting as a quite the catalyst for Doha.

In reply to Turkey's For Life. hahahaha! Yes, I should make a list of places where I didn't get lost. Ok, well, too, too lost or spend less than 25% of a trip trying to find my way around. Doha, Bahrain, Santiago, maybe Seattle, and hmmm...getting tough now!
