You're mixing up contexts. We always had net neutrality in Romania, not as a consequence of regulation guarding it, but just because that's how the Internet is supposed to work. If ISPs would try to push an anti-net neutrality agenda, thanks to the low amount of regulation, we can just fall back to our old ways of renting high speed lines for neighborhood networks. There's no ISP monopoly, and hopefully it stays that way, which means we're not locked in to whatever bullshit decisions a couple of large ISPs decide to push on us.

The writer speaks about low regulation but gives no details. Romania is being held up as a paragon of efficiency by the anti-net neutrality voices in the USA. But as a member of the EU one would assume that the country does follow net neutrality laws.

We did make the prices ourselves, this before the large ass corporation started monopolizing, but still they don't mess with us. I remember that most when I was little we would pay only half what they asked us. we'd all stay by our pretentions and simply refused to pay more than we considered it worth, all of us. for every time we had a problem we'd make a huge fuss. slowly but surely, they had no choice but to fit our demands. Back at my home my dad pays about 10 bucks for 2 providers, and has 3 permanent IP's one connection bein of 1gps, the other 2 100mbps are free cause, y'know. we're Romanians nd we know how to deal, unlike our leaders who sell everything else we have. Oh well guess we'll just have to revolt and overthrow the government again
