Tex-Mex is still Mexican food, it’s just a new variation like Italian American cuisine or Chinese take-out. Tex-Mex is influenced by all the immigrants and the Native Indigenous people of Texas but it is based on Mexican cuisine and is mainly influenced by the Mexicans who have always lived in Texas, remember Texas was once Mexico and some Mexicans never left. Most originators of the cuisine are Mexican Americans like the chili qweens, etc.. Also, both are really exceptional, for me there is nothing better than Mexican food, whether it be true real deal Mexican cuisine, or Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex, or Chicago Mexican cuisine.

In reply to Ali. haha, I guess all of the ingredients confuse them since German dishes only have two or three! I did find a good Tex-Mex place in Hamburg, if you're ever in that area. It's not Mexican but good for satisfying the craving.

Different, but still delicious! I live in Germany now & the Mexican restaurants make me cry they’re so bad. The only one I can eat at serves a “burrito” that’s really more like fajita style chicken served already wrapped in a tortilla. It has peppers & onions but recently they started putting zucchini in it too. Why?!
