In reply to Dave. They definitely don't publicize the flushing one but it's hard to be against it :) Jaywalking is definitely a don't-get-caught-no-problem type of rule in Singapore and everyone seems to learn when the best times are quickly :)

All very true! Every time I land in Singapore they always highlight the death penalty regarding drugs on landing. I had no idea about the flushing toilet fine though! thats a new one to my ears. But all in all Singapore is extremely clean and safe, I would never even think about breaking any of these rules myself in London (well maybe the Jaywalking but locals understand it like the New Yorkers :D). When I was living out there it didn’t really make a difference but all the travellers would ask me about the rules and they are indeed true. Another rule is what you can and cannot bring on the MRT (Transport system) durian fruit is banned and you can get a fine, but that stuff does smell, the hotel I used to work at also banned it from guests taking inside the hotel, you could always smell it from the check in desk so a good rule indeed! 🙂
