About two years ago, Lufthansa cancelled my puddle jumper flight to Frankfurt at the last minute. Instead of just rescheduling me for the next day, they put me in a taxi! Four hours later, I arrived in Frankfurt and it was too late for me to check in for my home bound flight. (I told them this would happen, but they did not listen- but the people at Lufthansa know everything already!). Madder than hell, I got them to pay for an outbound flight on a different carrier. They also paid for a nice hotel, dinner, breakfast and transportation.
Now, after over 40 years of flying with Lufthansa, I only take them when the only other option is to walk!

I guess it helps that we actually like airports. We usually show up 4-5 hrs before a flight. 🙂 I don’t know where it started but I have this thing where I absolutely need to eat at the airport, which is part of the reason why I like arriving early. I guess it’s become a part of my travel ritual.
