The central, old areas below the Al Hambra are attractive, but utterly dedicated to tourism. Everything pivots around the Al Hambra. This is a site that the Spanish themselves abused and neglected for centuries, but are now milking for all it is worth. Admission to the Al Hambra is about as commercially regulated as is possible. Just getting an admission ticket to the palace is a MONTHS long venture. There is no walking up and buying a ticket.

I found Sevilla far more “authentic” as a Spanish city. More friendly, less commercialized and the sites far more accessable.
