The company Blueground is leaving the Portuguese market. They are leaving property owners, whose homes they rent, with overdue rent payments and apartments full of damage. They return the apartments without complying with the contractual clauses. They send an email saying that the key is in a lockbox at the door and that the apartment has been “returned”. The apartment is “returned” full of damage and expenses. The Country Manager, Inês Maria Loureiro de Figueiredo, is managing this situation in a way that intentionally harms property owners. Owners, do not be deceived and take action against this company that intends to leave you with debts and damage to your property.

I strongly recommend that hosts avoid working with Blueground. They rented my property and failed to meet their payment obligations. After multiple requests for payment, I was informed just one day before checkout that the rent would not be paid. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I advise other hosts to proceed with caution when dealing with this company.

Horrible experience with Blueground. They are totally unresponsive. Many problems here, but no way to reach them. No phone number. No response to emails.

In reply to elin244@gmail.com. I stayed at Blueground locations here in LA since 11/24 to just a few days ago. I did not research them until recently and found out about all of their awful practices with other tenants. I am also in the process of seeking legal proceedings against them. I think there should be a class action suit based on all that I am discovering of how so many people have been treated. They should not be in business. I would love to join with others such as yourself and take this to a larger level.

As a tenant in Madrid for the past 6 months—and regrettably 6 more to go—my advice is simple: stay away.
The onboarding was careless. No one informed me that the building would be under loud external and internal renovations. They take no responsibility and don’t even follow their own agreement clauses.

Malasaña is a vibrant area, yes—but it’s also a constant construction zone. If they truly cared about tenants, they would have warned me. They didn’t.

The building is treated like a student dorm. Noise is constant. And while they excuse it because it’s “within legal hours,” that completely ignores the need for consideration in shared living spaces.

Prices are sky-high. Support is minimal. You’re on your own once you move in.
Avoid this experience.
