For US citizens, you must submit your itinerary with your visa application. Once you’re there though you don’t have to stay with a tour group and the definition of tour group can mean just you and 1 tour guide.

Cruises to Libya…wow, so much has changed for that Libya’s tourism industry on the last 10-15 years, which is a good thing. I’m yearning to drive across northern Africa on a motorcycle, and actually came very close not to long ago.

Hopefully I can put the plan into action one of these days…

I’m glad to hear there are others considering Libya as well. I think many people, especially in the US, are scared to even consider it a place to travel.

At one point, I even considered going on a cruise (gasp!), since they get you to Leptis Magnas considerably safe and quickly!
