I don't think it will stop independent travel blogs; but probably do some culling of the ones that are already out there.

I missed the 'non' up there, sorry! Yes, though it will be a very interesting year and look forward to evaluating these predictions in early 2013! Of course if you have any of your own to add feel free :)

Great point! I loved hearing what you had to say. BTW Mine is not a food blog. I am the biggest non food blogger out there on the Argentine scene. I let other people eat and take pics and tell me where to go LOL

U are so right, there are so many ways and styles to do blogging. My friends who are food bloggers are great with cameras and coming back with enticing recipes and food places. I'm better at using pop culture and videos to create interesting blogs.

Yes, travel and blogging are two very seperate things with seperate skills. I'm not nomadic and I'm based out of BsAs and even my blog takes up alot of my time sometimes. What I would love to see is travel bloggers say things that haven't been said. Like you said in the article that you predict border towns will be interesting. Doing blogs on peoples experience in border towns would be an interesting angle.

Let's see what 2012 holds..

In so many ways, the travel and the blogging are separate skills, actions, and activities that mainly stay apart until they're brought together for brief moments online.

Blogging can mean many things: writing, photography, video, social media, etc. that are all skills which take time to learn and cultivate. Some do some things better than others and there's a bell curve of quality certainly. I think the travel part of the equation is much, much easier comparatively and something you realize when trying to do both.

Travel blogs don't have to be nomadic to be good; that's only one variety like you say. There are food blogs like yours of course and an infinite range of others that exist and remain to be created. I suspect people will slow down - especially the more established blogger types just because this style of person seems to like change :) And when your life is all travel the change will probably shift in the other direction.
