Jay-Z on the Other Hand…

I have to say that I agree with the Washington Post’s assessment (see below). I heard the album last night, and to be honest I was disappointed. I had to bust out some of his old shit to reaffirm my love for young Hova.

Fans have come to expect nothing short of miracles from Jay-Z. Arguably hip-hop’s most successful artist, he’s respected in the streets as much as he’s celebrated in boardrooms for his commercial clout as the head of Def Jam records. But “Kingdom Come,” his much-hyped comeback album, is a disappointment: uneven and skimpy on substance.

The New Beatles Album

I got to hear some of it on the BBC tonight on my way out and about town. Now I’m usually quite opposed to people in studios messing with the classics, but to be honest, it’s very well done. Nothing has been added or taken away really. No special effects – it is just a mash up of Beatles tunes.

I think I’ll actually go out and buy the album this week. Depending on how much money I’ve got left over after I buy some plane tickets, tattoos, and other things, I might be able to upload them to an iPod of yet unknown size 😕

I’ll try to get around some RIAA stuff and see if I can’t stream a bit for you all, but don’t count on it 😉

Those Crazy Europeans

Doing all of their drugs

Users of the drug crystal methamphetamine may be causing euro banknotes to disintegrate, German police have told Der Spiegel magazine.

Drug users sniff powdered crystals through rolled up banknotes.

About 1,500 banknotes have crumbled after being withdrawn from cash machines, German banking officials say.

I Need Some iPod Advice

Guys, I’m thinking of getting an iPod – usually I’m pretty quick to gadgetize myself, but I’ve fallen behind the loop with portable music. The prices are sort of decent now, plus with some video and more space, I think whatever I get will last me quite a while.

I’m thinking of either going between the 30GB or the 80GB video iPod. I’m not a major music junkie although I’ve got a ton of MP3s…

So, any advice? I know that everyone else but me has one. I’ve heard get the 80GB, but is it worth the extra $100?

Like your iPod?

Thanks ya’ll

Flying to Multiple Destinations?

Cathay Pacific’s All Asia Pass, for instance, includes airfare to Hong Kong from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto or Vancouver, as well as connecting flights to 18 Asian cities over the course of 21 days — all for $1,499.

But air passes aren’t as simple as they sound. Taxes might add hundreds to the advertised fare, and the booking process can be so difficult that you won’t mind paying a travel agent to take over. (Cathay Pacific’s passes are actually sold only via agents.) To figure out if one is right for you, consider the following.

Get a good deal, but know the advantages and drawbacks.
