An Overview Of The Cassandra Hotel
Reviews of this hotel, where I stayed over a few days during TBEX 2011, tend to range widely, but in essence it’s a decent budget hotel in an expensive city. The Casandra Hotel isn’t walking distance of downtown at all – you’ll need to walk 10 minutes to get to the nearest Sky Train stop for a 15 minute ride into town. The rooms themselves are large, though the carpets are dirty, it’s certainly in the acceptable range for a budget place to stay. The neighborhood the hotel is in is also nice, with several restaurants nearby within a short walk. There is free wireless in the building and breakfast – although I didn’t get to try the latter.
Overall, the Cassandra Hotel is a decent budget option that’s outside of downtown Vancouver cheaper than the other hotels in town. Keep in mind that the hostels tend to book up quickly in Vancouver so book early if you want a closer spot to downtown.
