Located a 15 minute walk from the center of town (Lenin Square), Red Cat Hostel is a cozy place to stay in Donetsk. The hostel is in an apartment, which is common for eastern Europe, and the husband-wife couple’s mother lives next door. She keeps an eye on things and for the most part, the small hostel is comfortable, despite the size constraints. The kitchen is small and there’s no real common room so much of your social experience depends on the roommates who happen to be staying with you. Red Cat Hostel is clean – a bit overpriced – but a place I can easily recommend.
