Sleep Deprived Make Opposite Decisions

Sleep deprivation caused by long travel, jet lag, and unfamiliar places makes the human brain not only make bad decisions – but the opposite decision they would normally make.

Research shows that when people attempt to resolve emotionally charged, dangerous situations on little sleep, they make the opposite choice from what they would have made when well rested.

Make sure you get your rest on road trips using airports, on the train with sleeping cars, and near Starbucks in airports. Either way, this sounds like good girlfriend excuse to me.

US Passport Restrictions Eased Until End of September 2007

Officials in the US are currently backlogged with about 18 million passport applications and have changed some of the new passport rules instituted earlier this year.

Until the end of September, travelers will be allowed to fly without a passport if they present a State Department receipt, showing they had applied for a passport, and government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license.

Travelers showing only receipts would receive additional security scrutiny, which could include extra questioning or bag checks.

My question is – how will the country you are flying to let you in with just a passport receipt?? The change only applies to travelers headed to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda.

Wear A Wedding Ring To Avoid Harassment On The Road

A simple, yet old trick to use when traveling – ladies wear a wedding band (nothing as fancy on the picture) when traveling outside of your element.

In many places around the world, especially the third-world and Islamic countries, this can save you from unwanted harassment. Men can be much more vocal and aggressive in varying parts of the world, and anything you can do to ward some of it off is in your best interest.

Any other advice on avoiding or reducing the catcalls or a good ol’ hand grab ladies?

237D Ultimate Jacket

The 237D jacket is made for the traveler and has 33 pockets with magnetic flaps that can be used to store a host of items.

The 237D has 33 pockets and compartments, the patented Personal Area Network (PAN), DCC+, and tons of features including magnetic closures on the pockets and windflap, battery holders, detachable key chain, bottle holder, secret pocket, eyeglass chamois and more.

You can order the jacket online for about 75$ – it would make a great addition to your solar-powered backpack.

Thanks Chris!
