Many other travelers I’ve talked to found the small mud “volcanoes” (actually bubbling mud due to subterranean gases rising to the surface) a bit underwhelming, although I found the landscape interesting. (Particularly for photography.) It’s not work a trip just to see the mud volcanoes but if you rent a car worth stopping by on the way to other nearby sites. Entry is free.
