The Art Hostel in Sofia, Bulgaria is located in a very central part of the city, has a great atmosphere, and is alive and quiet enough for a wide range of backpackers. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are basic but clean – not to mention individually decorated. The bathrooms are also in good shape and cleaned on a daily basis. There is a bar on the lower level of the main building with cheap drinks in the evenings which is where breakfast is served in the mornings. Breakfast isn’t much though, just some dry cereal and toast. There is also free wireless which extends to most of the rooms, although disconnects occasionally for 5-15 minutes at a time throughout the day.
The Art Hostel does have some private rooms further down in an separate apartment building as well and if you are looking for a larger room you should request one there, they are really nice. Kitchens are also available in both building as well.
