A small but extremely clean hostel with excellent staff who are both friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Retro Moldova Hostel is located in an apartment (common for hostels in this part of the world) and about a 7 minute walk from downtown Chisinau. Conversely, it’s probably the one thing I didn’t like about the Retro Moldova Hostel; that is wasn’t the easiest to find initially when I first arrived in the city. Expect to do some walking around and be sure to have the exact address along with directions to the hostel to minimize the amount you spend walking around. Retro Moldova Hostel has free breakfast, a bit more than the usual bread and jam hostel combination, and a very fast wireless connection that extends throughout the common room and dorms. Keep in mind when the hostel gets busy, you may end up waiting to use the single common bathroom. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would strongly recommend staying at Retro Moldova Hostel when staying in Chisinau.
