The Djemaa El-Fna square, located in the old city of Marrakesh is lined with cafes with touts, snake charmers, and monkeys all crowded in the center. The only time the square calms down are for the few minutes a day during daily prayers. After about 5pm, the Jamaa el Fna becomes a place to eat with barbeque vendors creatively trying to get tourists to eat at their spot. If you like meat on a stick, this is your place and even if you don’t can enjoy watching the incredibly process of the market setup around 3:30pm each afternoon. Simply pick a balcony spot high up in one of the cafes and watch Djemaa El-Fna transform.
