My long term goal is to visit every country in the world but aside from that I’m certainly not much of a planner. Still, often I have a general idea of where I may be headed in the upcoming months and update this page regularly. While this is all subject to change, it can help give you an idea of what’s coming up for me, this site, and perhaps where we might be crossing paths. If you have any suggestions, or it looks like we might be at the same place at the same time, you can always feel free to email me.

I love how you have Las Vegas mixed in there. 2013 is the first year I will not be spending significant time there since 2000. I typically go for three weeks in December (plus more trips throughout the year, but December is always the bigger one).
This year I had planned to spend those weeks in South America instead, but then I started gravitating towards going to South East Asia. I still haven’t decided.
It’s become sort of a tradition for me to go to the Star Trek convention there every August 🙂
You’ve got a tough, but fun choice ahead! Good luck with your plans.
Ah yes, Star Trek. I am not a fan but being that my birthday is in August, I’ve often had friends there for the convention while I was there to drown my “IM OLD” sorrows in video poker.
Enjoy!
haha, hopefully with a few wins! I’ll be at the tables too (it’s hard to resist) in between convention activities.
Would you like to visit Russia?
Absolutely, I’ve never been before.
hi some great tips on data storage when travelling! just looking at your destinations and noticed you hadnt travelled to thailand yet…is this on the radar?
Thank you – no, Thailand’s not in my immediate plans. But one day as I haven’t been there!
Oh,wow, you’re going to Russia:)Where exactly do you want to go?
Right now I haven’t decided on it for certain because my schedule for the rest of the month is fairly tight and I don’t want to rush such a large country. Though I’ll take any recommendations you may have for when I do make my way there.
How about trying out the lesser known places, the roads less travelled, the places that many tourists don’t even imagine to be hotspots. Azerbaijan, for example, is a good one.
I’ve already been there:

Hey Anil, I have been quietly stalking you online and enjoy reading about your adventures…would love to meet you if you have time in Chicago to stuff your belly with Chicago style pizza, mayyyyybe some Bulgarian food (if you want) and show you around (an ex intern with the Board of Tourism I should know the non-touristy gems in the city)! Just pack your SPF30 (heat and humidity are just brutal in August), send me any requests you might have and bring your fabulous self here! And it will be epic!
It’s nice to hear from you in the comments. I’m actually in your country right now 🙂 and will be happy to meet you when I arrive in Chicago. I’ll keep my plans updated on this page and of course, Facebook:

Hi Anil – Just wanted to mention to any of your readers who may be Bob Dylan fans, he’ll be performing tonight in Lucca, Italy. Anyone in the area should stop by and enjoy a great concert!
Sweet, thanks for letting us know!
I can’t wait for your blog entries about North Korea. Cheers from Manila!
Glad to see my home country Moldova on your list of visited places! I live in Chicago now – and would love to meet for a drink while you are in town .
Hi Anya, sorry to have missed you this time but I’ll be back!
I’m in town this week if you want to meet up!
Damn and I thought we could meet in Dubai 1-8th May this year. Late May I’ll be in Viena and afterwards, late June probably I’ll be in London.
Sounds like you’re on the move too! I’m sure we’ll cross paths one of these days, safe travels!
My friend, have been and for sure will be. Started the year strong, Viena in January, Copenhagen in February, Valencia in March. April is like a little break. Later in the year do you have plans like in autumn to visit Europe? Maybe we can meet somewhere 🙂
Let’s keep in touch 🙂 Fall is the beginning of tech season so I’m not sure what my schedule will be just yet.
