Hi everyone, I’m here and ready to take any and all of your tech and blogging questions!
Suggestions on the best point and shoot digital camera. I am a minimalist and don’t like to carry alot of gear!
In my opinion the Panasonic Lumix ZS-20 is the best point and shoot with lots of DSLR-like features and a great auto-mode.
Here’s the first Hotspot Shield Elite code as well for you:
WAJ7LW
getting a fail on the hotspot code
Sorry about that, try this one: THQEQP
Maybe I am doing something wrong but that didn’t work either. Accessing their main site and when I enter the code it is not reducing the price to zero as it should and gives me the following….
The coupon entered is invalid. You may try another coupon, or proceed without entering a coupon.

Done 🙂 Thanks for this!
Enjoy!
Hi everyone, the Hotspot Shield Elite code above is still good – follow the directions below!
Cool, thanks for the Hotspot Shield code. I found your website over a year ago and followed your advice on and bought the Alfa AWUS036NHR and have been using it often in guesthouses throughout South East Asia to boost my wireless signals and even pirate signals from other guest houses….works like a charm!
You’re welcome 🙂 I’m also happy to hear you’re finding the Alfa useful, it’s one of my often-used gadgets!
I just completed my third month blogging. I got 1100 unique views my second month. These days, I average about 30-40 unique views a day. Should I be worried? Given that I’ve been at it for three months, shouldnt I have more traffic?
I post every 3 days, and just got my PA (28) and DA(18) updated but keep feeling that my progress is too slow.
Three months is a short time to evaluate your progress on, I wouldn’t be discouraged. Do you have any pageview goals?
My goals this month were 3000 total views, 1500 unique, but it looks like I will miss that mark. It is hard to give myself a goal when I don’t really know what ‘good progress’ and ‘bad progress’ is. I don’t really have a reference point.
Pageviews typically increase very gradually over time. I would look at your most popular posts and try to see if a focus on similar topics/styles increasing pageviews over the next 3 months.
Hi there,
Soon I will be working as a photographer for an event, and by the end of the day I will have to set up a gallery with all the new shots, so that people can order the ones they wish to buy.
What’s the easiest, quickest online platform to do this? And maybe free/not expensive, given that I will need it for just a month or so.
Thank you very much for your help 🙂
Hi Giulia, I would suggest a one month subscription to SmugMug, they make selling photos very easy and let you set your price points so you can see various profit margins.
I believe it’s $8/month 🙂
Ok, very reasonable, I will need it just for a month or so. Perfect!
Thanks, I will have a look at it. I heard about SmugMug at least a million times but never tried it…
Thank you!
You’re very welcome. I’ve tried many services for photo sales and galleries and SmugMug is by far the easiest I’ve come across.
Hello Anil!
I am currently on WordPress.com, and wanted to switch over to self-hosting with wordpress.org but currently don’t have the time to make the switch (I started it and it was just taking too long to make a seamless transition). I think that I will stay on WordPress.com for now, but was wondering if you had any ideas to get Google analytics to work with it as I read that it isn’t something you can do with WordPress.com sites. Any insight into this?
Thanks in advance!
Victoria
Hi Victoria, I could walk you through the process but we might not have enough time for this chat. There is a somewhat complicated way to get Analytics working with WordPress.com sites I can refer you to but an easier solution is to install the Jetpack Stats plugin if you’re not already using it?
Great I’ll look into that! I didn’t realize we could install plugins with WordPress.com sites?
Absolutely – and stats may actually already be bundled with your site 🙂
I do have stats actually, just was thinking Google analytics might be better? It’s a shame they won’t let you easily use that!
Thanks for your help!!
Both are good but the main difference is that Analytics doesn’t count as many robot and “spam” hits to your site.
Also, depending on the host you move to (I use Media Temple) they may help you transfer your site:

Ok, I’ll look into it! I really want to move my site over because I want more flexibility with design! I like my current template, but really don’t like that posts are in a 3 column format (I want to be able to display larger photos!).
Thanks and have a great day!!
-Victoria
Anytime and happy travels!
Thanks everyone for joining the chat! I’m going to begin wrapping things up but look forward to doing another live chat in the coming weeks 🙂
