Located very near Tahrir Square in Cairo a few blocks up on Kasr El Aini Street, Arabesque is a vibrant cafe with a relaxed atmosphere. Arabesque Cafe serves the usual Egyptian fare of tea, Nescafe, and endless amounts of shisha in addition to offering several fruit smoothies and desserts. The service is generally quick and many of the staff speak enough English that if you don’t know any Arabic you’ll be able to get your order understood. A huge bonus is the free wireless Internet access at the cafe, which is a great place to spend lots of time soaking in what can be a chaotic city. The prices are lower across the board than you’ll find anywhere nearby and the food, drinks, and shisha are equally refreshing.
