This was my first time at any of Germany’s famous Christmas markets which pop up around December. The market was active with people shopping for last-minute gifts, drinking punsch (a sweet liqueur served warm), and of course eating candy. I enjoyed the spirit in the market which was bustling, but the punsch…not so much.
Great picture!
Merry Christmas to you and your family – or Good Yule, as we say it in Norway 🙂
Thanks Renny, to you as well! There were so many good photo opportunities at the market, I just couldn’t capture many of them. Guess luck wasn’t with me 🙂
Hi Anil,
Merry Christmas!
Amanda Kehoe
Thank you Amanda, Merry Christmas to you too 🙂
The picture looks very warm but I bet you were freezing cold if it was anything like Munich.
It was freezing that night, -7C or in that ballpark.
Merry Christmas Anil! Stay warm and have a wonderful holiday season. Looking forward to reading about your upcoming travels.
Thank you Barbara, Merry Christmas to you as well. Hope you had a wonderful trip and a good New Year coming up 🙂
Hey Anil! We were in Frankfurt, Prague and Amsterdam last Christmas and I remember not being able to feel my toes! The punsch is gross, but if you chug it, it definitely warms you up! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
It was so cold when I was there I considered drinking the stuff just to keep from freezing solid! Thank you both and hope you have a wonderful New Year 🙂
Hi Anil,
Merry Christmas to you and to your family… Germany, must be great to spend Christmas with loads and loads of great beers!!!

Thanks Flip…yes the beer does flow freely here. I gotta say, it’s kind of nice 🙂
I hope to visit a German Christmas market one day. Your photo is a good reminder of why I’d like to be there.
A nice experience that will certainly put you in a Christmas mood.
Although the photo has warm colours, I can feel the chill! It must have been a magical time if year to be visiting!
The cold almost made the warm punsch tolerable 😛
Did you drink any Gluhwein by any chance?
I did try it, but not my favorite either :/
I have booked myself to the Christmas markets this year, hopefully I’ll be able to go. I’ve heard so much about them. Seems like you’ve enjoyed them. 😀
Awesome, will you be in Lubeck or one of the other city’s Christmas markets? Definitely interesting and a fun time; just dress warm!
