Small Travel Essentials

Traveling frequently means you’ll have to develop a habit of maximizing space yet still having some useful essentials. With airport security banning this and that, and long layovers in airports draining your wallet, these are items that every gypsy should have with them before hitting the road, air, or water.

  • Tissues – Sneezing in an airport, eating greasy fries, or a runny nose can spell disaster on a plane or in a car. Small packs of tissues are cheap, light and small and stop you from having to resort to some pretty gross booger smuggling.
  • Matches – Until recently, lighters were banned from flights to and from the US. Matches can come in handy if your car breaks down in the woods during the winter, you want to strike up a conversation with a cute smoker, or get rid of annoying string hanging from your clothes.
  • Hand sanitizer – This nifty little liquid makes a great addition to your tissues in case you can’t wash your hands.
  • Safety pin – They are tiny and can be used to clean small crevices, open hard-to-open thing wrapped in plastic, and can be heated with a match to remove ticks.
  • Chewing gum -For those times you don’t have access to a toothbrush or faucet, some mint gum can tide you over.

UK Proposes DNA Database on Every Citizen and Visitor

The potential for abuse is too great to make this a good idea. Already, innocent people acquitted of crimes cannot have their details removed from the database of – 30,000 people per month – that already exists. DNA evidence is not like a social security number, once it’s lost, stolen, or mishandled – it’s out of your hands forever and can’t be changed.

Bill Murray Drunk On A Golf Cart Driving Through Stockholm

Bill Murray was recently pulled over for driving a golf cart in Stockholm, Sweden drunk. He recently explained,

The police “asked me to come over and they assumed that I was drunk and I explained to them that I was a golfer.” I ended up stopping and dropping people off on the way like a bus. I had about six people in the thing and I dropped them off one at a time.” He said police called him over as he was dropping the last couple off at a 7-Eleven, adding “I didn’t know they had 7-Elevens in Stockholm.”

Driving a golf cart in downtown Stockholm is not illegal, though the blood test results indicate he was intoxicated.
