This tiny stop along a lonely road in Linderas, Sweden, is that country’s smallest cafe. (Conveniently advertised too although I’m not sure how they determined who gets that distinction.) About 90 kilometers east of Halmstad and an hour away from Knared’s Stone Memorial, it’s very unassuming as you’d expect a coffee-loving nation’s smallest “Cafe & Pastry” shop to be. Probably my biggest regret about taking this picture is what I didn’t do after – try the coffee.
As I traverse the world, I love all the ultimate claims – some based on fact and some just base claims. England must have a dozen “oldest pubs” and they mix nicely with “the smallest”, “the longest” and what not. It makes people stop, enter and take photos which after all is what most of them are trying to achieve. Rarely in my experience has such an ultimate claim matched “the finest” or “the best” or “the most economical” – they are often price to take advantage of their framatic claim…
That’s one I want to see – most economical! I’d be there in a heartbeat 🙂
And there I was going to ask, what the coffee was like! 🙂
I’m still kicking myself for not trying it!
not to worry, just go to your local Ikea, coffee tastes all the same in Sweden, haven’t managed to find a nice coffee shop in Nordic area yet,
but this place in Oslo is worth a stop for sure: http://timwendelboe.no/
really good and also the scandinavian chain waynes is worth a stop,
but apart from that nordic coffee is a little bitter i find, but I’m a coffee freak, nothing beats a good Italian espresso, that all kick you up the back side like trojan horse
Yeah, it wasn’t until I went to Sweden did I realize my version of ‘strong’ coffee wasn’t quite so much according to Scandinavian standards!
well, you can try the coffee next time we go there 🙂
I wonder if the cups are super tiny? 😛
Oh that’s so cute! Don’t worry, I’ll try the coffee for you and tell you what it was like 😉
Awesome, tack!
Too cute!
Did you at least go inside to see how small it was inside?!! I wonder if they had small coffees!
No, I was a total fail!
Super cute, Anil!
One of the parts I love about Sweden, full of these wonderfully simple but lovely homes and shops.
Oh, that’s just the kind of things I love to see when out traveling, those picturesque odd places. And no, we haven’t tried the coffee there either, if we do, we’ll report it to you 😉
Swedes have good taste in coffee, am curious to hear your report!
awww. it’s so cute! It’s the kind of place I’d love to get a Mexican Mocha. I wonder if they make that there?
Will find out for you next time 🙂
I love visiting small, hole-in-the-wall places like this. Too bad you didn’t stop in!
