Scientists studying the level of man-made chemicals in pregnant women living in the Arctic have found it increases their chances of having a girl.

After measuring the levels of man-made chemicals in the women’s blood that mimic human hormones, scientists concluded that they were capable of triggering changes in the sex of unborn children during the first three weeks of pregnancy.

In the US and Japan 250,000 fewer boys were born last year. A good thing if you’re a single male or a Kenyan monkey.
